With our large cast, there's no shortage of fresh hosts, players, and games to make every QueerProv show one-of-a-kind. No cover for entry, donations accepted post-show.
Donations go directly to our players, then our Queer Improv Society, which organizes our workshops, pride parade involvement, and supporting charities like Rainbow Refugee.
Our regular show is usually about two-thirds games and one-third longform improv. If you've never seen improv games these titles won't make sense, but staples often include Freezetag, Just A Minute, Tapout Monologue, Survivor, Love-Letter/Complaint Letter, Scene 3 Ways, Genre/Emotion Coaster, Innuendo and more.
A joyously competitive improv set involving juicy (plastic) fruit. You get to vote on our performances throughout the show and pick the winner of the fruit cup! It's weird, it's funny, and it ends with up to 10 people improvising a live music video. Wow!
Our late night slot has a rotating list of formats and experiments before we bring them to our regular times. Some recurring shows have been the following:
We bring in guest troupes from the city and enjoy some friendly competition for who is the most fabulous! Previous guests have been Arms Akimbo, The Radical, Quad Comedy, Wolves, Hocus Focus, Brrammo, and Lake Pesto.
Yup, we've had drag queens join us for some improvised silliness. There's makeup, dance numbers, scenes, and a lot of cross dressing.
At QueerProv we pride ourselves on using full lighting and sound in our shows. Every once in a while we go the extra mile and use even more tech. Bring your sunglasses.
Working with the fabulous duo Jennifer Pielak and Peter Abando, we've constructed improvised musicals. Well, la dee dah!
Is explanation required? We put individuals and pairs of people on the spot and see what kind of improv they can muster.
Junction is a 19+ venue, please bring government-issued photo ID.
